Quick Start Guide - NaviTrackrMll Sonde
&
Line Locator
RICGIC.
Sonde Mode
Select the Sande operating mode and frequency that
matches your sonde.(Most cameras are 512 Hz)
Localize the Sonde - Starting with NaviTrack at the
suspected sonde
location,
hold it so the mast is horizontal
and extend your arm out. Make a slow circle, observing the
Signal strength and
sound;
they will be highest when the
mast is pointed in the sonde's direction. Lower NaviTrack
so the mast is vertical and walk in the direction of the
sonde. As you
approach,
the signal strength will increase.
Maximize the signal strength. Move the locator in all
directions over the maximum to verify the highest point.

Pinpoint the sonde Next move perpendicular
away from the equator (dashed line) and center
the Pole icon in the crosshairs. (A) Place an
orange Pole marker on the ground at the spot
where you have found the Pole. Move back
toward the Sande along the estimated pipe axis
(double line). (B) After you cross over the
Equator (dashed line), the second Pole will
appear.(C) Center the pole on the crosshairs
and mark its position.
Move back toward the
Equator.
With the mast
vertical and the lower antenna ball in line with the
Pole markers, center the dashed Equator line on
the crosshairs. This should also be the location
of maximum signal strength. Place the yellow
marker at this spot.
Verify the locate - All three markers
aligned,
signal strength highest and depth lowest directly
over the yellow Sande marker. See the user
manual for more information and exceptions to
the
above, e.g.
tilted
sondes.
Important! Remember that being on the
Equator does NOT indicate that NaviTrack is
over the sonde. Always verify the locate by
maximizing signal strength and marking both
