EM Pre- Filter
There are no LED indicator lights for the EM Pre-Filter. The life of the media insert may range from a
couple of months to a year and it depends entirely on the quality of the water.
The EM Pre-Filter cartridge may become blocked over time and result in decreased water flow. When
this happens, you will need to clean or replace the media insert that fits inside the reusable housing to
restore acceptable flow.
 The Pre-Filter can be back-flushed up to three times to flush out built-up sediment and particles
and restore efficiency. After the third back-flush, the EM Pre-Filter media insert should be
replaced with a new one.
 You can also remove the EM media insert and rinse it off to help restore flow. The EM media
inserts should be cleaned regularly between replacements to extend the life of the Pre-Filter.
 The reusable housing can be opened to wash off the surface of the filter and remove any dirt
trapped in the housing, resulting in a higher level of restoration of the filter's performance.
AquaHD™ Main Filter
IMPORTANT: THE AQUAHD
flushing can contaminate the downstream media of the AquaHD
properly.
Capacity-The AquaHD™ media insert has a long life: filters up to 11,355 liters (3,000 gal)**. The
AquaHD™ media insert should be replaced when the LED indicator light flashes red. How long will it
last? That depends on how much water the unit is filtering. By using the filter for all of your water
needs, you will run through 11, 355 Liters (3,000 gal) faster than if you only use it for drinking water.
For example, a family of 4 drinks approximately 2 liters of water per day, each could use 2,920 Liters in
1 year, so the filter would last 3.8 years before replacing the AquaHD™ media insert. If you use it for
washing dishes, cooking and drinking, it would use up its capacity a lot sooner.
** For optimum performance, we recommend replacing the AquaHD
they red light has not yet come on. Actual capacity will depend on the amount of suspended solids and particles in the
local water system. In certain water supplies, tastes or odors may return or the flow may decrease prior to the rated
capacity. In these cases, the media insert in the AquaHD
 When replacing the media insert with a new one, the reusable housing of the main filter cartridge
can be opened and rinsed. The used media insert should then be discarded.
The integrated LED indicator lights will advise on the status of the AquaHD

media. This light means you have 500 gallons or
about 1,893 liters left to filter before you need to replace the
media insert in the main filter. (the blue light also indicates that the
filter is still working)
 REPLACE - Red light = After 11,355 liters (3,000 gallons), the
