Remember to "charge" the cartridges after media inserts are replaced.
Charging the system
To improve the flow rate and to reduce the "run on" water after the faucet is turned off, the system
needs to be "charged" when first installed, after back-flushing and when replacing the media inserts.
Charging purges any trapped air from the system.
As described the Use and Care Booklets (AQ623 or AQ624) this is done by first running water through
the system for about 2 minutes to saturate the media, then removing the Inlet Assembly and the Pre-
Filter cartridge from the main cartridge, pouring water into the top hole to fill the AquaHD
cartridge, re-installing the Pre-Filter and pouring water into the top hole of the Pre-Filter cartridge until it
is full.
Resetting the flow meter
When replacing the AquaHD™ media insert, the flow meter has to be reset. Using a pencil or pen
point, press the red button on the unit base for 5 seconds and wait for the indicator lights to fire a flash
sequence.

Replacement Parts

Use only genuine Rena Ware replacement parts. Cartridges are sold off the Rena Ware Retail price

Before installing the unit, insert two fresh, high quality AA batteries (not included) in the base. Replace
the batteries as needed.

Care Instructions
To clean the exterior of the faucet, filter cartridges and base unit; use a clean moist cloth and mild non-
abrasive liquid soap.
Troubleshooting:
Tip - In an Emergency for UCU Integrated Faucet models:
In the event that a UCU model clogs up and the customer doesn't have replacements for the Pre-Filter
TM
and the AquaHD
arrive and as an emergency measure only, customers can simply remove both cartridges and connect
the Inlet Assembly directly to the locking plate on the base. This will allow customers to temporarily run
the unfiltered tap water through the integrated faucet*.
*IMPORTANT: Operating in this manner should be done only in case of emergency. Running unfiltered water
through the Aqua Nano Integrated faucet by bypassing the filter cartridges may allow contaminants from
raw tap water to accumulate inside the faucet. Therefore the customer needs to disinfect the Integrated
faucet before installing new Media Inserts to prevent these deposits from contaminating the filtered water.
See instructions for disinfecting the faucet in the Troubleshooting section of the Use and Care booklet
for UCU-500 (AQ624).
