The MAVEA
INTENZA water filter car-

tridge must be rinsed in water before the
first coffee or espresso is dispensed.
Please read about this process in the
instructions. When the display indicates it
is time to change the water filter, or at the
latest after 2 months, the cartridge is no
longer effective. Please replace the
MAVEA
INTENZA water filter cartridge to
®
ensure optimal hygiene and prevent
limescale buildup, which can damage the
appliance. Each time you change the car-
tridge, be sure to repeat the steps
described above.

Used MAVEA

cartridges can be disposed of with
the regular household garbage. If you
have more questions, contact MAVEA
Consumer Service at 1.877.628.3242.

section in the instructions so that you are
familiar with the exact settings for your
appliance.
The filter cartridge must be removed
before beginning any of the service pro-
grams (e.g. "Cleaning" or "Descaling") .

Important notes
● Replacement filter cartridges should always be
stored in a cool, dry place in their original sealed
packaging.

● The MAVEA
INTENZA filter is designed for
use only with microbiologically and chemically
safe drinking water (municipally treated tap
water or water from sources which have been
approved as safe to drink). This drinking
water is constantly checked and meets the
legal requirements governing drinking water
quality. If users are advised by the official
authorities to boil their tap water, MAVEA
filtered water should also be boiled. When the
"boil water" notice has been lifted, the fully
automatic espresso machine should be cleaned
completely and a new filter cartridge inserted.
● Filter cold water only.
● Clean the water tank regularly.
● Remember that it is generally advisable to
boil tap water for certain groups of people
(e.g. those with weak immune systems). This
also applies to filtered water.
● Note for dialysis patients or those with kidney
®
disease: during the filter process, there may be
a slight increase in potassium content. If you
have kidney disease and/or have to keep to
a special potassium diet, we recommend you
consult your doctor first.
● If your fully automatic espresso machine has not
been used for a prolonged period (for example
if you have been on holiday), we advise you to
pour out any unfiltered water that is still present
and to leave the filter cartridge in the water tank.
Before you use the fully automatic espresso
machine again, remove the water filter cartridge
from the water tank, clean it and repeat the
steps for rinsing the filter cartridge as described
in the instructions.
● Water should be regarded as another food
product. Please use up water in the tank within
1 day.
● Please understand that we cannot accept
any liability or guarantee if you fail to observe
our recommendations on the use and
changing of MAVEA
cartridges.
