  • Page 5 If your model does not have a water softening facility, you may skip this part. The hardness of the water varies from place to place. If hard water is used in the dishwasher, deposits will form on the dishes and utensils. The appliance is equipped with a special softener that uses a salt specifically designed to eliminate lime and minerals from the water.
  • Page 6 Contact your local water board for information on the hardness of your water supply. You should not need to add excess detergent to you dishwasher as it incorporates specially designed water softeners. Always fill the detergent dispenser at the start of each cycle - see the wash cycle table above. A normal wash usually requires one tablespoon of detergent - items which are heavily soiled may require extra.
  • Page 7 To open the dispenser, turn the cap to the "open" (left) arrow and lift it out. Pour the rinse aid into the dispenser, being careful not to overfill. Replace the cap by inserting it aligned with "open" arrow and turning it to the closed (right) arrow. The rinse aid is released during the final rinse to prevent water from forming droplets on your dishes that can leave spots and streaks.

  • Page 9 We recommend that you place large items which are most difficult to clean into the lower rack: pots, pans, lids, serving dishes and bowls, as shown in the figure to the right. It is preferable to place serving dishes and lids on the side of the racks in order to avoid blocking the rotation of the top spray arm.

  • Page 12 Never run the dishwasher without the filters in place. When cleaning the filters, take care not to damage them. Filters can become damaged quite easily, leading to performance being compromised. To clean the edge around the door, you should use only a soft warm, damp rag. To prevent penetration of water into the door lock and electrical components, do not use a spray cleaner of any kind.
  • Page 13 Connect the cold water supply hose to a threaded 3/4(inch) connector and make sure that it is fastened tightly in place. If the water pipes are new or have not been used for an extended period of time, let the water run to make sure that the water is clear and free of impurities.
