Paris: for the first time, a Grande- Complication watch was on show. From the outset, it earned Audemars Piguet distinction and recognition, and even today is regarded as one of the company's best products.
This created a wealth of experience, which today still leaves its mark on all watches produced at Audemars Piguet. In the brightly lit workshops, the inspiration from this unrivalled landscape continues to encourage traditional craftsmanship.

(see figure below). 185 years later, in 1986, Audemars Piguet succeeded for the first time in fitting this system in a wristwatch with an automatic extra-thin movement. This automatic movement is provided with the smallest cage ever built, with an outer diameter measuring only 7.6 mm.
In the 2875 calibre, the entire movement was enlarged by about a third, with the everyday performance of the movement taking precedence over the record size. Enlarged in turn, the platinum/iridium weight (7.62 g.) was fitted with a jewel bearing and losses due to friction were reduced to a minimum. The movements of the weight, which oscillates in one direction and then the other, depend on the activity of the wearer on the one hand, and terrestrial attraction on the other hand (see figures below).

4. BASIC FUNCTIONS 4.1 Setting the time Set the watch to the desired time by turning the hands, with the crown pulled out in position B. To do so, you can turn the hands forward or backward, as you like. 4.2 Setting the date To change the date, all that is needed is a back-and-forth motion of the hands between 7 pm and 12 pm (with the crown in position B).
To ensure protection of the case against dust and water splashes, a check on the dustproof gaskets and splash-proof gaskets should be performed at least every two years. SAV de la Manufacture d’Horlogerie Audemars Piguet & Cie Service Après-Vente Route de France 16 1348 Le Brassus –...
