    CIRCUIT OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION POWER SECTION 1. POWER SUPPLY OPERATION(220V) 1) AC input and EMI FILTER AC inlet consists of fuse, Line Filter, X-Cap, Y-Cap, Varister. Line Filter(L801, L802), X-Cap(C803, C804), Y- Cap(C801) belong to EMI Filter section. They decrease noise to get into and out of AC Line. Picture 1.
  • Page 18 CIRCUIT OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION 3) Snubber circuit Snubber circuit protects speedy voltage rising between Collector and Emitter when Main Switching TR is turned off. So Collector and Emitter voltage enter into safety operation and noise is decreased. When TR is turnd off, because high reverse voltage is generated between Collector and Emitter, it is rectified to D802, smoothed to C807 and consumed to R809.
  • Page 19 CIRCUIT OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION 5) Costant-voltage Circuit This circuit maintains constant voltage. When voltage is lower or higher than reference voltage(2.5V) of IC802 pin1, this circuit compensates for a loss. Base voltage of Switching TR is controlled and final voltage is regulated by increasing or decreasing Internal Diode Current of IC801.

Each associates to and amplifies 2 channels, and then outputs 5.1 Channel to JK300. (IC303 : Main L.R, IC304 : Surround L.R, IC305 : Center, subwoofer).

  • Page 28 CIRCUIT OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION 3. Loader Part The loader which read the data of audio/video from optic disc and transfer them to MPEG decoder can be divided into Deck total DVD assay(in a short term, Mecha) and Servo. Mecha mounts with the optical pick-up which allows reading the signal of a disc using laser beam and makes it operate and cosists of the deck mechanism which allows loading a disc and reading the data.
  • Page 29 CIRCUIT OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION M5709 is divided into RF block and Servo block. RF block consists of RF amp, attenuator, AGC(Auto Gain Controller), Programmable equalizer/filter circuit. In RF block, the disc pit signal read from the optical pick-up is input differentially into two RF signals for DVD(for CD, it is input into single RF signal)and the attenuator adjusts the kind of disc and the difference of reflection and the AGC amplifies the signal in a fixed pattern and it is input into programmable equalizer/filtter and in this section frequency range and phase of the RF signal is adjusted and then sent to the output terminal.

  • Page 31 CIRCUIT OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION 2) Motor Drive IC: BA5810FP(IA02) BA5810FP(IA02) is 5 channel motor operating IC which has 4-channel BTL driver and 1 channel reversible driver and 2 out of 4 channels are used as Stepping Motor driver. Driver IC generates the focus signal and the tracking signal for pick-up actuator, the sled signal for feed, spindle signal and the load signal for opening and closing of the tray.
  • Page 32 CIRCUIT OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION MPEG Decoder The signal read from DVD disc is output into the RFsignal and Servo related signal through the RF IC and they are input into the MPEG decoder and processed the MPEG decoding and divided into video/audio signal. The video signal is output into the analog audio signal through the built-in encoder block and also the audio signal into the audio DAC through the audio decoder block.
  • Page 33 CIRCUIT OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION 2) Flash Memory : MX29LV800ATTC-70 or A29L800TV-70 (IC03) This stores every program required for the operation of DVD player and holds the data of OSD languages and LOGO and send them upon request from u-COM. This allows the update of firmware by CD-R/RW. For DVD module, 8MBit Flash Memory on 512K x 16bit basis is used.
