Highlighting Civic's category-leading innovation is the Honda Sensing suite of safety
and driver-assistive technologies, standard on the Touring Coupe:
Honda Civic Sedan Model Shown
Collision Mitigation Braking System™
(CMBS™)
is designed to detect a possible

frontal collision and apply the brakes
automatically if it determines that a collision
is imminent, helping to mitigate the forces of
a possible collision.
Honda Civic Sedan Model Shown
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with
low-speed follow
vehicles ahead and use the throttle or brakes
to maintain a set following interval. And
if the vehicle detected ahead slows to a
complete stop, the system will stop the Civic
automatically. The driver then just needs
to tap the throttle or cruise-control RES/+
button to resume the system's operation.
Honda Civic Sedan Model Shown
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
designed to detect the possibility of a frontal
collision and alert the driver visually and
audibly to apply the brakes.

Honda Civic Sedan Model Shown
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
designed to monitor the Civic's position
in a detected lane and alert the driver if it
begins to leave the lane without a turn signal
activated.
Honda Civic Sedan Model Shown
Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
a windshield-based camera to detect lane
markings, and can actually influence the
steering to help keep the Civic in the middle
of a detected lane.
Honda Civic Sedan Model Shown
Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)
uses the windshield-mounted camera to
identify the side of the road, and can alert the
driver with a warning message and steering-
wheel vibration if the car is about to leave
the road. The system is designed to then use
the Electric Power Steering system to guide
the Civic back into its detected lane or apply
the brakes to keep it from leaving the road
altogether.
