position of the two spoo ls is reversed to run
the second side through the
camera.
The film
processor cuts the film in
half,
straight down
the midd
le,
and splices the two
halves
together so that you receive a 50-foot (15 m)
film ready for projectiQn
.
Note
: Because
'double-8 films are run twice through the
camera there is a
"
leader" at one end, and
a "trailer
"
at the other, each about 5 feet
(1 .5 m) long
.
These provide protection against
light-fogging and facilitate loading
