Using the Terminal The barcode scanner of the terminal starts to operate right after the terminal boots into system. To scan a barcode, position the barcode within the red light area. Aim the barcode at the red dot for accuracy. On a successful read, the beam dies out. If the scanner fails to read to barcode within about 4 seconds, the beam dies out and the scanner attempts to read again after 2~3 seconds.
