    Chapter 2 - Installation Network Setup The Monitored Geist Upgradeable PDU has a default IP address for initial setup and access. Once you have assigned an IP address, the default IP address will no longer be active. To restore the default IP address and reset all user-account information, if the user-assigned address or passwords are lost or forgotten, press and hold the network-reset button located below the Ethernet port for 15 seconds.

    The IMD can be replaced and upgraded to allow data-centers to future-proof their locations. Basic The Basic Geist Upgradable PDU is the baseline for the GU line of products. It is built with the IMD- X module, and provides low cost power distribution with the option to upgrade to add local metering and/or remote monitoring and other features in the future.
  • Page 31 Display Button functionality may vary based on unit configuration. Monitored The Monitored Geist Upgradable PDU is an advanced option for data centers that need full remote monitoring and alarms. It is built with the IMD- E module, which provides dual Ethernet ports and a local display.
  • Page 32 Enhanced Monitored The Enhanced Monitored Geist Upgradable PDU is a more advanced option for data centers that need full remote monitoring, alarms and remote sensors. It is built with the IMD-02E module, which provides dual Ethernet ports, a local display and a RJ12 port for remote sensors. Highlighted in Red above.

Using a smart device, such as a smart phone or tablet with the Geist Mobile app installed, it is possible to capture data from the LED display when running in VLC mode, which can be enabled/disabled easily by using the display buttons on the device, or using the GUI on monitored units.
