NuVinci N360 with fluent gears (360%)
The NuVinci N360 is a maintance free hub gear that
shifts fluently from the lowest to the highest gear, with
a large gear range of 360%. Shifting will be smooth even
under heavy load.
Controlling it is easily done by turning the gripshifter at
the grip on the rightside. You can always shift, even by
stand (However, pedalling during shifting makes it a bit
lighter, and you can shift between the entire gear range
only when pedalling while shifting). In the display of the
gripshifter you can see the current gear ratio.
Shimano Acera with 9 gears
The Shimano Acera is a derailleur gear with 9 gears.
It can be manually controlled with the two shifters next
to the right handlebar. The lowest one (controlled with
the thumb) shifts 1 gear up/lighter with a small push
or 2 gears up/lighter with a big push. The upper shifter
(controlled with forefinger) shifts 1 gear down/heavier
with every push.
It is important you always keep cycling when you shift
gears, but don't use force on the pedals while shifting.
Never shift gears when in a standstil. The display of the
shifter provides you the information about which gear
you're in.
Fine tuning derailleur gears
To avoid unnecessary wear and noise from the chain,
you can make sure that the derailleur wheel is in
a straight line with the cassette wheel. The chain
should also run in a straight line. This can be possibly
finetuned by the rear derailleur of with the cable
adjustmentscrew at the shifter.
