Auxiliary Brake
Aggressively applying the auxiliary brake when backing down a hill
may cause rear tipover, which could result in serious injury or
death.
Use caution when applying the auxiliary brake. Do not
aggressively apply the auxiliary brake when going forward. The
rear wheels may skid and slide sideways, causing loss of control
and serious injury or death.
Your Polaris ATV has an
auxiliary brake (1) for added
safety. It's located on the
inside of the right floor board
and is operated by the right
foot. The auxiliary brake
serves as a backup to the main
brake system if the main
system becomes inoperative.
If the rear wheels slide while
using the auxiliary brake,
reduce brake pedal pressure to brake the rear wheels without skidding.

Brake Fluid Level

Check the brake fluid level frequently for the auxiliary brake system.
The reservoir is located under the seat or near the auxiliary brake.
Maintain the fluid level between the maximum and minimum marks.
