Key Takeover

When you are ready to drive the vehicle:
Unlock the doors.
1.

Enter the vehicle. Do not step on the foot brake.
3.
Insert the key, turn it to the RUN (not START) position. Step on the
foot brake. The remote start is disabled and the parking lights turn
off.
Disengage the parking brake and begin driving.

Note
If your vehicle uses a Smart Key or PTS (Push-To-Start) system,
please refer to the vehicle specific instructions included with
the owner's guide of the interface module or consult your
authorized dealer.
To perform Valet Take-Over:
1.
Before turning off the engine, press the auxiliary channel on your
Keyless Entry or Security system. (See your authorized Directed
Dealer for the programmed number of times required to activate
remote start.)
2.
Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. (The engine will stay
running.)
3.
The engine will run until the pre-programmed time elapses or a
shut-down input is received. (See page 9 for complete list of shut-
down inputs.)
Note: This feature will not work if the brake pedal is being pressed.

Starter Anti-Grind Circuitry

Whenever the vehicle is remote started, advanced anti-grind circuitry
prevents the starter from engaging, even if the key is turned to the start
position. This prevents damage to the starter motor if the key is turned to
