Resuming a Set Speed
If the cruise control is set at a
desired speed and then the brakes

are applied, or is pressed, the
cruise control is disengaged without
erasing the set speed from memory.
Once the vehicle speed is about
40 km/h (25 mph) or more, briefly
press RES/+. The vehicle returns to
the previously set speed and stays
there.
If RES/+ is held, the vehicle speed
continues to increase until the
button is released, the brake pedal
Q
is applied, or is pressed. Do not
hold in the RES/+ button, unless
you want the vehicle to go faster.
Increasing Speed While Using
Cruise Control
If the cruise control system is
already activated:
. Use the accelerator pedal to get
to a higher speed. Press SET/-,
then release the button and the
accelerator pedal.
. Press and hold the RES/+ until
the desired speed is reached,
and then release it.
. To increase the vehicle speed in
small amounts, briefly press
RES/+ and then release it. Each
time this is done, the vehicle
goes about 2 km/h (1.2 mph)
faster.
The accelerate feature only works
after the cruise control is turned on
by pressing SET/-.
Reducing Speed While Using
Cruise Control
If the cruise control system is
already activated:
. Press SET/- until the lower
speed desired is reached, then
release it.
. To decrease the vehicle speed in
small amounts, briefly press
SET/- . Each time this is done,
the vehicle goes about 2 km/h
(1.2 mph) slower.
Passing Another Vehicle While
Using Cruise Control
Use the accelerator pedal to
increase the vehicle speed. When
you take your foot off the pedal, the
vehicle will slow down to the
previously set cruise control speed.
Using Cruise Control on Hills
How well the cruise control works
on hills depends upon the vehicle
speed, load, and the steepness of
the hills. When going up steep hills,
you might have to step on the
accelerator pedal to maintain the
vehicle speed. When going
downhill, you might have to brake or
shift to a lower gear to keep the
vehicle speed down. When the
brakes are applied the cruise control
is disengaged.
Disengaging Cruise Control
There are two ways to end cruise
control:
. Step lightly on the brake pedal
or press the clutch pedal, if you
have a manual transmission.
