7. Transport

7.1 Car transport
Most of the mechanical damages on the housing, which we recently recognized on
alerting number of FES battery packs, seems to be result of unsuitable way of
transportation in the cars. We decided that it is mandatory to use FES transportation
box. For safety reasons, box must be placed into the luggage compartment, pushed
forward up to the front wall. Transportation box should be additionaly secured, so that it
can not move backward during acceleration, or forward at braking.
For safety reasons (and common sense) it is not allowed to
transport battery packs in the car cockpit, for instance behind
drivers or co-drivers seat, or infront of the co-driver seat, as in
case of accident it could be very dangerous!
Do not leave battery packs in the parked car under sun in hot
summer, as they might be exposed to high temperatures.
For all FES sailplanes delivered after 17. October 2017, FES transportation
box is part of standard FES equipment.
If your glider was delivered before this date you probably did not receive
transportation box, unless you order it as part of optional equipment. In
such case please contact us to order FES transportation box, as it is
mandatory to use it, for safety reasons.
