    2. Features The VS-102-HDSDI is a video and audio transmission system that provides broadcast quality audio and video, based on IP network through LAN, ADSL/VDSL, and Wireless LAN. The VS-102-HDSDI can operate in an Encoder mode or a Decoder mode. The Encoder system compresses video data and transmits it.

    VS-102-HDSDI User Manual 5. System Modes and Connections VS-102-HDSDI operates as one of two modes; Encoder, and Decoder. VS-102-HDSDI systems can be connected in either 1-to-1 fashion where one encoder is connected to one decoder or 1-to-many fashion where one encoder is connected to many decoders.

Maximum connections would be limited by network bandwidth capacity. Functionally, the VMS (Central Monitoring System) software can replace the decoder.

In order for a proper operation, an IP address must be set accordingly. Please refer to the True Manager in Chapter 3 or Remote Setting in Chapter 4 for further details.

    Remote Configuration Remote configuration of the server is available by web browser. Enter the IP address of the VS-102-HDSDI and then a live view screen appears as shown below. Press the Setup button in the screen to set the server.

    VS-102-HDSDI User Manual Encoder Configuration Encoder Configuration While most configuration items are common for Encoder and Decoder mode, there are items which are relevant to the specific system mode. The configuration items for Encoder mode are explained and then items specific only to Decoder mode are described, respectively.

  • Page 25 VS-102-HDSDI User Manual  Encode Input Format  Select ON to display video on the monitor that is connected to the composite or HD/SD-SDI or HDMI video port. Select an Input Format. There are 4 types of input ports: Composite, HD-SDI (Option), SD-SDI(Option), HDMI.
  • Page 26 VS-102-HDSDI User Manual Quality  Select video quality. Eight levels of quality are available. Quality mode (VBR encoding) adjusts the bit rate according to the image complexity, using higher bandwidth for increased activity in the video and lower bandwidth for decreased activity.

However, it is possible that recorded data by a series of events happening continuously can be merged to a single AVI file depending on pre/post event time setting.
