If You Forget Your Code Number

Refer to "Changing the Level", step 3 on page 46, and press the CLEAR button 10 times.
The registered code number is canceled, letting you register a new one.

Error Message

When problems occur with disc playback, an error message appears on the display. Refer to
the table below to identify the problem, then take the suggested corrective action. If the error
persists, contact your dealer or your nearest PIONEER Service Center.

When this message is displayed
The disc is dirty.
The disc is scratched.
The disc is loaded upside down.
This type of disc (CD-ROM etc.)
cannot be played by this unit.
This unit's power supply or
internal mechanisms may be
malfunctioning.
There are no discs loaded in the
magazine.
The temperature of this unit is
outside of the normal operating
range.
The DVD player's door is open.
The disc does not have the same
region number as this unit.
This type of disc (CD-ROM etc.)
cannot be played by this unit.
Remedy
Wipe the disc clean. (See page
13.)
If the disc is scratched, replace it
with another. (See page 13.)
Check that the disc is loaded
correctly. (See page 14.)
Replace the disc with one this
unit can play. (See page 9.)
Switch this unit OFF and then
switch it back ON. (See page
17.)
Load a disc or discs in the maga-
zine. (See page 14.)
Wait until the unit's temperature
returns to within normal operat-
ing limits.
Close the DVD player's door.
Replace the DVD with one bear-
ing the correct region number.
Replace the disc with one this
unit can play. (See page 9.)
