    3.2 Charging the Battery The PEL 105 is equipped with a NiMH battery, which provides power in the event of a disruption in the phase power or external AC power. Before the first use, start by fully charging the battery.

    4.1 Hooking Up to the Distribution System The Model PEL 105 works with a variety of current probes and sensors. Choosing which type to use depends on the cur- rent to be measured and the diameter of the electrical cables. Each probe and sensor comes with its own documentation, which you should consult before connecting to the instrument.

    ® DataView enables a computer to connect to and interact with a variety of AEMC instruments, including the Model PEL 105. As its name implies, the primary purpose of DataView is to view data that has been recorded by the instrument and display it as a report.

    DataView software version releases. Similarly, Firmware Upgrades links to the website where you can check for new firmware updates for the PEL 105 (see § 8.1.2). Finally, User Manuals displays a printable .pdf file containing the documentation that accompanies DataView. (DataView also comes with a Help system that is installed with the program files.)

    3. Find the instrument, which will appear listed by its Bluetooth name. This name consists of the prefix “PEL 105” plus any additional characters you add via the PEL Control Panel. Click the name. 4. You are prompted to enter a pairing code, which for PEL 105 instruments is always 0000. After you enter the code, click Next.
