STEP FOUR: WIRE SPEAKERS TO THE AMP
Next, you'll connect the speaker wire to your amplifier. Make sure the amp is not plugged in to power, that the power
switch on the amp is turned OFF (O), and all level control knobs are turned completely to the left (0). Referring again
to image 3, connect the BLACK wire(s) to the COM terminal on the back of the amp. Connect the RED wire(s) to the
70V terminal. At this point, your system is wired, and should be functional.
STEP FIVE: CONNECT AND TEST
Make sure the amp is not plugged in to power, that the power switch on the amp is turned OFF (O), and all level control
knobs are turned completely to the left (0). Turn the BASS and TREBLE control knobs to the 12 o'-clock position (0).
Using the supplied 1/4" to XLR cable, connect the XLR (3-pin) end to your DM1 microphone, and the 1/4" end to the
amp, at the MIC 1 INPUT jack on the front of the amp. Using the supplied RCA to 3.5 mm cable, connect the RCA (red
and white) end to the back of the amplifier, at the red and white AUX 1 jacks. Plug the 3.5 mm end into your smartphone,
tablet, laptop, or other audio device. Open your music app and start the music. Set your device's volume level to full,
then back it down one or two clicks. Plug the amplifier's power cord into an electrical outlet. Turn the amplifier's power
switch ON (I), and turn the MASTER level control knob to the 12 o'-clock position (5). Turn the level control knob for AUX
1 to the right slowly, and you should be able to hear your music's volume increase as you turn the knob. Around 12 o'-
clock or so should be plenty loud, but adjust according to your situation. (If you are NOT hearing your music at this point,
check all your connections, and go back over all the steps to make sure you didn't miss anything.)
STEP SIX: AIM, ADJUST, AND ENJOY
You'll want to take some time to walk around the entire area, and see how it sounds in all the places you need to
cover. Recruit volunteers to stand (or sit) in various locations to assist in aiming and adjusting the speakers. Use
the BASS and TREBLE controls to tailor the sound to your liking if needed. Follow the same procedure for your
microphone and any other sources you'll be using. Once you're satisfied with the coverage and performance of the
system, go ahead and tighten up the adjustment points on the speakers, and secure any wires using appropriate
hardware. And boom. You're done. Just like that!
