out of the Front Channel and let it hang down in-
side the Back Channel. The awning will still sup-
port its own weight at this point.
4. Remove the pin that joins the Adjustable-Pitch
Arm to the Back Channel (Pin B.) A SECOND
PERSON MUST BE READY TO SUPPORT
AND CONTROL THE AWNING ROLLER TUBE
AT THIS TIME. Repeat the procedure of Step
3 on the indicated pin, again collecting and put-
ting aside the pin and spacers. To make it easier
to remove the pin, relieve the tension due to the
strut by gently pushing up on the Top Arm. Re-
move and discard the old Adjustable-Pitch Arm.
5. Install the new Adjustable-Pitch Arm. Attach
the new Adjustable-Pitch Arm to the hardware by
re-installing both pins. Start with the pin at the
Back Channel (Pin B,) then the pin at the Front
Channel (Pin A.) Remember that the pin at the
Back Channel must pass through the Adjustable-
Pitch Arm and the Strut End Fitting.
IMPORTANT:
The box channel of the Adjustable-
Pitch Arm must be connected to the Back Channel, and
the open c-channel of the Adjustable-Pitch Arm must
be connected to the Front Channel (with the knob on
the underside.) Failure to follow these instructions
may cause damage to awning components.
6. Reinstall all spacers and secure both pins. Install
one new internal-tooth locking washer (included)
on each pin. DO NOT REUSE OLD INTERNAL-
TOOTH LOCKING WASHERS. Use the 3/8" nut
driver to push them over the pins until they bot-
tom out against the Front Channel.
7. Verify that the awning is working properly.
B. REPLACEMENT OF KNOB/NUT
1. Remove old Knob/Nut. If Knob/Nut is missing, go
to Step 2.
2. Install new Knob/Nut.
3. Verify that the awning is working properly.

2. Open awning fully. Locate the LH side Bottom

to FIGS. 1&2. The Bottom Arm is the one-piece
member located in place of the Adjustable-Pitch

spacers located between the Adjustable-Pitch
Arm and the Strut End Fitting (qty. 2,) the spacers
located between the Adjustable-Pitch Arm and
the Back Channel (qty. 2,) and the spacers lo-
cated between the Adjustable-Pitch Arm and the
Front Channel (qty. 2, not shown.) You will need
to re-install these spacers before the installation
is complete.
3. Remove the pin that joins the Bottom Arm to
the Front Channel (Pin A.) First pry off the inter-
nal-tooth lock washer using the Flat-Edge Screw
Driver. Use care to avoid damage to the powder-

using the Ball-End Hammer. Start by supporting
the side of the Front Channel where the fl at head
of the pin is located, and use gentle, fi rm taps on
the free end of the pin. Collect the pin and two
spacers and put aside. Swing the free end of the
Bottom Arm out of the Front Channel and let it
hang down inside the Back Channel. The awning
will still support its own weight at this point.
4. Remove the pin that joins the Bottom Arm to
the Back Channel (Pin B.) A SECOND PER-
SON MUST BE READY TO SUPPORT AND
CONTROL THE AWNING ROLLER TUBE AT
THIS TIME. Repeat the procedure of Step on

aside the pin and spacers. To make it easier to
remove the pin, relieve the tension due to the strut

and discard the old Bottom Arm.
5. Install the new Adjustable-Pitch Arm. Attach
the new Adjustable-Pitch Arm to the hardware by
re-installing both pins. Start with the pin at the
Back Channel (Pin B,) then the pin at the Front
Channel (Pin A.) Remember that the pin at the
Back Channel must pass through the Adjustable-
Pitch Arm and the Strut End Fitting.
IMPORTANT:
The box channel of the Adjustable-
Pitch Arm must be connected to the Back Channel, and
the open c-channel of the Adjustable-Pitch Arm must
be connected to the Front Channel (with the knob on
the underside.) Failure to follow these instructions
may cause damage to awning components.
6. Reinstall all spacers and secure both pins.
Install one new internal-tooth locking washer
(included) on each pin. DO NOT REUSE OLD
INTERNAL-TOOTH LOCKING WASHERS. Use
the 3/8" nut driver to push them over the pins until
they bottom out against the Front Channel.
