A suitable breathing respirator must be worn while sanding lead painted surfaces, woods and metals to avoid breathing the potentially harmful/toxic dust or air.

Wait until the Sander has come to a complete stop before placing it down on a bench or other surface. Sanding Surfaces: Turn the Detail Sander on, place it with the full pad area on the surface to be sanded, and move it with moderate pressure over the surface.
