Rev. 2 ACTsmart2 Operation The ACTsmart2 family consists of Proximity Only (ACTsmart2 1070), Pin and Proximity (ACTsmart21080) and PIN Only (ACTsmart2 1090) units. Each ACTsmart2 can operate in standalone mode or up to 16 ACTsmart2 devices can be connected on a RS485 network.

See the ACTsmart2 Network Installation diagram to complete the necessary connections. Programming Door Numbers To allow some users through a door and prevent access to other users, each ACTsmart2 on the network must be given a door number (1-8).

The normally open door release button should be connected to the SmartLock. When the input is activated, the door will open for the Door Relay Time programmed into the ACTSmart. ACT recommends installing the SmartLock inside the Power Supply Unit. Some PSUs can accomodate the Smartlock directly, otherwise drill holes to suit the SmartLock, (5mm drill bit required).
