ARRIS X180/ X210 Assembling Manual
Thank you for purchasing the ARRIS X180/210 FPV Racing drone. Be sure to read through the
entire manual before starting your build. If you bought the ARRIS X180 or X210 frame, or super
combo version, this manual will provide you the necessary information to complete the building
with a minimum amount of effort.
1. Solder the brushless ESC and motor (for X180, we suggest the 2204 2700KV brushless motor;
while for X210, we suggest 2204 2300KV brushless motor). Here we take ARRIS high speed 20A
brushless ESC and ARRIS 2204 2700KV brushless motor as an example:

  • Page 2 CW motor, the wires should not cross and go directly to the corresponding ESC wires. 2. Install the soldered motor and ESC on the bottom plate of the frame (make sure the ARRIS logo is on the back of the plate, this will help in subsequent steps to ensure the correct motor rotation).
  • Page 3 4. Install the PDB (Power distribution board). 4.1 Begin to install the PDB, we need to understand the layout of it (check the picture below) 4.2. Solder the brushless ESC on the PDB according to the following diagram.
  • Page 4 4.3. Solder wires for camera and video TX. For video TX, since we only need positive-negative and signal wire, other extra wires need to be cut off. 4.4. Solder the positive electrode and negative electrode of video TX on the corresponding position of the PDB.
  • Page 5 4.5. Solder the power wire of the camera on the PDB, if the camera is 5V voltage input, then camera could only be soldered on 5V position; while if it is wide range voltage input, such as 4-20V, then you need to solder the camera to the ESC position. Then connect the signal wire of camera (yellow) to signal wire of video TX (yellow).
  • Page 6 5.2. Install the F3 flight controller on the bottom plate with M3*6 screws (as picture showed). 5.3. Solder the F3 flight controller. There are 3 modes: PPM, PWM and SBUS. Each of them are different. Refer to the following 3 diagrams.
  • Page 7 5.31. We need firstly solder the power supply for F3 flight controller. F3 is powered by 5V voltage, here we don`t suggest directly use the BEC of the ESC to power the F3, but use 5V voltage on the power distribution board because not all the ESC has BEC function. Then, solder the 5V output on power distribution board to “+””-”...
  • Page 8 5.32. Solder the wires of brushless ESC. 1.2.3.4 label on the below diagram refers to positions of the 4 ESCs, you need to solder them to the above corresponding positions. 5.4. Solder the negative electrode (black wire) of F3 to “-” position on position and solder signal wire (red) to “S”...
  • Page 9 5.61. Use glue to paste the buzzer on corresponding position of bottom plate. 5.62. The hole of buzzer should fit the holes on bottom plate. 5.63. This is the solder well picture, pay attention to the positive and negative electrode of the wire, then use 3M adhesive tape to avoid insulation.
  • Page 10 6.2 Install the video TX according to the above picture. Pay attention to the switch position. 6.3 Fix the video TX with a nylon ribbon. 7. Solder the XT60 plug.
  • Page 11 7.1 Solder the XT60 plug on the PCB board. Don`t use too much soldering tin or it might cause short circuit. 7.2 Solder the silicone wire to the XT60 plug (at least 16AWG silicone wire can be used) 7.3 Solder the XT60 to power distribution board, then install the receiver. Here we use R6D receiver, since R6D supports PPM, only 3 wires are required.
  • Page 12 8.2 This picture is the plate with aluminum column installed. 9. Install the green protective frame. 10. Install the camera, here we need M2 nut and M2*14 screws to connect camera with the camera mount.
  • Page 13 10.1 Pick the upper plate out, install the assembled camera on the upper plate with M2 * 6 screws. 10.2 Install the camera protective frame, all the screws should be fixed with glue. 11. Install the soldered XT60 on the upper plate. 11.1 Put the battery straps on the plate, then install the soldered XT60 with M2.5 step screw and M2.5 nut.
  • Page 14 11.2. Assemble the upper plate, then install the video TX, insert the camera plug. Now, the assembling work is finished. You need to connect the F3 flight controller to your computer and install the Clearnflight software to get the perfect PID of your drone. Please check another manual for how to use F3 flight controller.
