    After the manual has been read, data can be entered in the computer. This manual has been written by Fancom for the computer user. An installation manual is also available for the installer. If you have any questions regarding the computer, please do not hesitate to contact your Fancom dealer.

    Communication It is possible to communicate with the 747 computer via a PC. Via modems even at great distances. The RS232C serial port (PC-interface) or the Fancom network (FNet) can be used for communication.

  • Page 9 3. Working Fancom 747 The Fancom weighing system consists of a computer and a maximum of eight weighing scales. The scales are connected to the computer. The computer can be connected to a PC or a printer. For example, eight scales can be placed in one flock or one scale in each of eight individual flocks.

    1583 1571 The front of the 747 has an illuminated display consisting of 4 lines, each with 20 characters. The display shows the most recent weight measured by the computer, or the setting to be changed. A letter (or a figure) will always flash in the display to indicate where the setting can be changed.

    The second LED lights up. This means that the computer has just accepted a weight on scale 2 or scale 6. Fancom shows the keys as a symbol in this manual. These keys can be found in Fig. 2 and on the front of the computer.

In practice, the scales will generally be calibrated at the beginning of a new flock cycle. 1. Determination of the zero Ensure there is nothing on the scales.

The computer calculates this weight from the entered and assigned growth standard.
  • Page 23 6. Settings Fancom 747 Curve In houses with heavier animals, a high occupancy and mixed males and females, it is advisable to enter the upper and lower limits in the computer via a curve. The heavier the animals become and the higher the occupancy, the higher the lower limit should be.

    The 747 weighing computer can be used to weigh broilers, turkeys, animals for rearing and parent stock. At installation, the installer will have set the 747 computer to suit the individual situation of the user. Depending on the situation, the computer will use one or two growth standards.
