Editing the passwd file
Editing the asppp.cf file
This step is only necessary on the dial-in server. For example, if you are
configuring two stand-alone SPARCbooks to communicate via a phone
line using PPP.

To configure a dial-in server, you must edit the
files. You must add an entry for each host authorized to
/etc/shadow
log in so that when the remote host calls, your system reads its UUCP
database to obtain a user name or user ID for the host initiating the call.
Your SPARCbook then verifies the user information in the
file. For information about configuring these file, please
/etc/passwd
refer to the System Administration Guide. See "Associated Documents"
on page xix.
The
/etc/asppp.cf
system at the other end of the PPP link. When you boot your
SPARCbook, the link manager uses this information to establish and
maintain communications with the remote system.
