The EV100-CS/MS/MSIR is a PIR motion sensor combined with a camera. The
CS camera version is colour and the MS camera version is black & white. To
monitor the camera independently from the PIR use terminal 3 for the
camera power supply. The camera field of view and contrast has been
set to ensure the best picture quality. Consequently, no setting or
adjusting is required.
The EV100-MSIR is the EV100-MS module with 16 IR LEDs
enables night vision. To reduce current consumption, there is a light
sensor that avoids any IR activation during daylight.
Where to locate the detector
Install the detector so that the expected movement of an intruder will
be across the fields of view. This is the direction best detected by PIR
detectors.
Avoid possible false alarm sources, such as
Direct sunlight onto the detector
Heat sources in a f ield of view (heaters, radiators, etc.)
Strong air draughts onto the detector (fans, air-conditioning etc.)
Large animals (dogs, cats) in the f ield of view
It is recommended that the detector is regularly walk tested and checked
back at the control panel.
Mounting instructions
1. Lift off the custom insert , as shown (Fig.
2. Using a screwdriver, carefully prise open the detector and remove
the hinged cover (Fig.
3. Break out one or both cable entry hole(s), as required (Fig.
4. Mount the detector between 2.1 to 2.4 m high on the wall.
Caution! Do not install the detector within 1.5 m of emergency
lighting.
5. Select the mounting holes for flat wall (A), or corner (B) or (C)
mounting (Fig.
).
6. Using the base as a template, mark the screw hole locations on
the wall.
7. Fasten the base to the wall.
8. To facilitate access, remove the connection terminal (Fig.
5 cm of the cable and pull it through the cable entry hole(s) and
strain relief (Fig.
, 1). Replace the connection terminal.
Caution! Do not touch the pyro during installation (Fig.
9. Wire the detector, as shown (Fig.
Warning! Do not connect a 12 VDC supply to terminal 4
as it will permanently damage the detector.
10. For ceiling-mount applications that require a 90° coverage, use the
SB01 swivel-mount bracket (Fig.
mounting hole in the PIR/Camera-CS/MS for the swivel bracket
cabling (Fig.
).
11. Remove the screw from the cover (Fig.
detector hinged cover (step 2), insert the screw (step 3) and replace
the custom insert (step 4).

To walk test the detector, make sure that jumper J2 is in the On position,
or in the Off/Remote position and that the LED is enabled remotely.
Programming the range
PIR:
Use jumper J1 to program the range up to 6 m or 10 m.
It is important to correctly program the sensor for optimal sensitivity.
Reducing the range will decrease PIR sensitivity in the undercrawl area.
Always select the appropriate range setting for the dimensions of the
area to be protected. Verify the coverage pattern and adjust, if required.
Camera:
See Figure
for camera range.

Masking objects close to the detector
The mask is supplied loose in the housing and can be fitted to the
inside of the window, as shown. It is used to mask the PIR from detecting
objects that are in front of, close to (within 1.5 m) or directly under
the detector. It disables the part of the curtains looking at the object,
whose closeness might otherwise destabilise the detector.
Remove this mask to detect undercrawl (PIR only).
Dual Loop (Fig.
With a Dual Loop, the tamper loop and the alarm loop can be monitored
which
over two wires. Figure
control panel.
In a normal situation (no alarm), the Dual Loop impedance is 4K7.
In case of a detector alarm, the alarm switch can open and the
impedance of the Dual Loop will increase to 9K4, indicating an alarm.
When the detector housing is opened, the tamper circuit will be opened
and the Dual Loop interrupted, indicating a tamper alarm.
Camera output
Terminals 4 and 5 provide UTP video outputs, suitable for CAT 5 cable
or equivalent (e.g., WCAT52) with the maximum length of 50 m when
connected to a VIQ system or 300 m for a standalone application used
in combination with an active UTP receiver. In most VIQ applications
a normal security cable (for example, WN108W) will provide good results.
Terminal 4 is video GND (Video A in VIQ systems). Terminal 5 is composite
video out (Video B in VIQ systems).
To obtain coax output (standalone applications), please use an active
UTP receiver (twisted-pair Balun).
IR illumination principle (EV100-MSIR only)
When the camera power (12 VDC) is applied to terminal 3 and the
, 1).
environmental light conditions are "Low", the IR illumination is switched
on for 60 seconds after each PIR alarm.
When 12 VDC is applied to terminal 8, the IR illumination can be
switched on remotely if the environmental light conditions are "Low",
regardless of the PIR status.
