Firmware update

PSi will advise users to update the printer's firmware irregularly to strengthen PR 9's functions and will offer
the necessary firmware file to users (usually the firmware file is named flash.mot).
To update PR 9's firmware please follow the steps below:
Copy the firmware file flash.mot to a Personal Computer.
Connect PR 9 to one of the PC's parallel ports (usually LTP1 port), and power on the PC.
Connect a 220-V power line to the PR 9 printer.
Press the [STOP ] key and push the power button together to power on the PR 9.
Do not release the [STOP ] key until the current firmware's edition is displayed on the printer's LCD.
Hold on to press the [STOP ] key until LCD shows as:
After LCD's displaying become stable, you can release the
"PROGRAM UPDATE".
Copy the firmware file flash.mot binary to the PC's parallel port, which is connected to the PR
9. Usually we suggest the user to use the command under MS-DOS like this:
Now the downloading process will begin.
During the downloading process PR 9's LCD will display how many bytes the printer has
received.
The whole downloading process will last about three minutes. After updating is finished
successfully, LCD shows:
Now the PR 9 will automatically reset after downloading process finished.
Firmware upgrading finished after PR 9's automatically resetting finish, and PR 9 can be used
normally.
Power off during the process of firmware upgrading is forbidden, otherwise the printer will be
