Before you start Align locking ribs (J) on vacuum elbow with recesses (B) in locking ring, and slide vacuum elbow into locking ring. 1. Vacuum elbow After pushing vacuum elbow all the way in fan case so that line (K) will meet locking ring, rotate locking ring clockwise 1/8 turn to lock vacuum elbow in place.

Engine operation Engine operation Starting the engine WARNING When starting the engine, observe the precautions described from Page 4 in the section "For safe use of your prod- uct" to ensure that you operate the product correctly. Failure to observe the precautions could cause an accident or injury, or even lead to a fatality. NOTE Pull out the starter grip gently at first, and then more rapidly.

Do not point the blower pipe in the direction of people or pets. IMPORTANT To avoid engine damage due to over revving, do not block blower pipe opening.
Also, vacuuming up sticky material like mud or fallen leaves turning to leaf mold may cause fan case or pipe to clog. Contact the local ECHO dealer in your area should you notice a significant decrease in suction power or abnormal vibrations using your unit.

® Do not operate SHRED'N'VAC if shredder blade is damaged or broken. Return unit to Echo Dealer for service. With engine stopped, remove spark plug wire, remove vac- uum tube from unit. Remove accumulated debris from blade and inspect for damage.
