NOTE:
4.4.1 — Long Term Storage
1. Treat the fuel with a commercially available fuel sta-
bilizer. Operate the engine for 10-15 minutes to circu-
late treated fuel into the fuel lines and carburetor.
The fuel may be left in the tank or drained into a suit-
able container.
2. Drain oil from crankcase. Refill with recommended
grade oil.
3. Remove spark plug and pour about 1/2 oz (15 ml) of
engine oil into the cylinder. Cover spark plug hole
with rag. Pull the recoil starter several times to lubri-
cate the piston rings and cylinder bore. A fogging
agent can be used in place of oil.
*
Avoid spray from spark plug hole when crank-
ing engine.
4. Install and tighten spark plug. Do not connect spark
plug wire.
Allow the unit to cool completely.
5. Clean the unit's outer surfaces. Check that cooling
air slots and openings on the unit are open and unob-
structed.
6. Store the unit in a clean, dry place.
4.4.2 — Other Storage Tips
• If possible, store the unit indoors and cover it to give
protection from dust and dirt. BE SURE TO TURN
THE POWERDIAL TO THE STOP POSITION.
