  • Page 9 A powerful software application for ARK 100 is supplied for Windows users. It allows users to configure the audio performance settings of the product to create game-specific profiles. The following section will tell you everything you need to know to be able to customize the product.
  • Page 10 When you first load up the app, it will look like this: Key Elements: 1. Running along the top of the app is the audio status panel. This lets you know, at a glance, what features are enabled on the product. The arrow button in the bottom right hand corner of the audio status panel toggles between that and the audio profile menu.
  • Page 11 Before we dive into what each feature does and how it works, this section will explain the profile system. This works slightly differently than other Mad Catz programmable devices, but is still fast and easy to use. To access the profile menu, click the arrow button highlighted below. The window will change to display the current profiles on the system.
  • Page 12 The profile can now be edited. Any changes you make to a profile will be applied automatically without the need to click save or apply. To delete a profile, make sure it is selected and then click the – button.
  • Page 13 This section controls the output volume of the USB sound card. Use the sliders to adjust the master volume, or control the Left and Right channels of the headset independently. Pressing the volume buttons on the side of the headset will also alter the volume level.
  • Page 14 Use this section to alter the digital audio quality of the USB soundcard. Most PC gaming or film audio will be in 48 KHz/16 Bit format.
  • Page 15 This section allows you to alter the audio signature of the headset. By default, this is set to a flat EQ for balanced audio. You can either select from a group of pre-set EQs, or define and save your own. If you want to modify the EQ of the headset, we recommend first setting the Headset EQ to optimal using the button on the side of the right ear can.
  • Page 16 Your custom EQs can be selected at any time by clicking the drop-down menu arrow.
  • Page 17 This section deals with the virtual surround sound processing. Simply select the between music, movie/gaming mode, and then choose the size of the soundscape you want the headset to replicate. Once you have made your setting, you can click the play button to test the position and sound of the different channels. This feature can also be toggled on and off by pressing the Surround Sound button on the right ear can.
  • Page 18 Audio Clarity restores the clarity and details of compressed audio in music, movies and games (MP3, WMA, AAC, AC3, etc.). Data compression algorithms usually remove some audio information, especially the high- frequencies. The higher the compression ratio, the more information removed. It might result in flat, thin, and lifeless sound.
  • Page 19 Bass Boost magnifies the natural bass information in the audio signal and re-enforces low-end reproduction with little distortions on voice integrity or details. This function extends the speaker’s bass reproduction ability to half of its cut-off frequency. Five cut-off frequencies can be selected: 100, 150, 200, 300, or 400Hz. Select the one closest to your speaker to get the best listening effect.
  • Page 20 Smart Volume is a technology for controlling playback volume. It equalizes the volume level of multiple audio applications on the user’s PC. The recording level of various contents may be different. Users may have to adjust the volume level for different content to get an even playback level.
  • Page 21 This feature increases clarity, intelligibility, and prominence of receiving voice in VOIP, game, music, or movies without suppressing or changing other audio. Voice Clarity is particularly useful when the audio level is low, such as when watching video late at night, when the listening environment is particularly noisy or when playing games with mixed team conversation.
  • Page 22 Surround Max takes audio that was recorded in stereo and virtualizes a surround sound output. This is ideal if you would like to add surround effects to music, or stereo video content.
  • Page 23 This page consists of sliders for adjusting the master mic volume. You can also set the monitor (SVM) level for listening to your own voice.  Click the lock icon to adjust sliders individually or at the same time.  Mic Mute and SVM on/off are managed via the buttons on left ear can. Only the levels are set via the software.
  • Page 24 Adjust the number of times the sound level is sampled. 48 KHz is the average setting for best voice quality.
  • Page 25 This feature can be toggled on or off. It is designed to tune out background noise when you are talking. For example, if you are gaming in a noisy room, this feature will reduce that noise so you can be clearly heard.
  • Page 26 Alters the pitch of the user’s voice during VOIP communication.
  • Page 27 The system tray icon is a quick and convenient way to access the app. If you left-click the icon, the app interface will open. If you right-click the icon, a profile menu will appear. From here, you can access important audio features on your computer.
