Fully Charge Pocket Jump Before First Use
Batteries naturally discharge when not in use, so it is highly recommended to fully charge the device before first
use. Check the capacity by pressing the capacity indicator button. If all 4 capacity indicator LEDs light up, then
your Pocket Jump is ready to jump your vehicle. If not all capacity indicator LEDs light up, follow the instructions
under the "Charging the Pocket Jump" section until the Pocket Jump is at full capacity. When not used regularly, we
recommend a routine charge to full capacity once every 30-45 days.
Jumping Your Vehicle
NOTE: Before use, make sure all of your vehicle's electrical accessories are turned off. The Pocket Jump must
be fully charged to jump your vehicle. If your vehicle has not been started for an extended period of time and the
battery is dead, it is likely that the battery is fully discharged and will not be able to be charged using Pocket Jump.
Step 1: Test the Battery. Without connecting it to the Pocket Jump, insert the cigarette lighter
connector end of the cigarette lighter adapter into the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle.
Turn the key in the ignition to the accessory position, usually one-quarter turn of the key (for a
vehicle with push-button start, push the start button without engaging the brake). If the power
indicator LED lights up, continue. If not, your vehicle's battery may be damaged and unable to
charge.
Step 2: Test Electrical System. Leaving the adapter plugged into your vehicle, turn on the
headlights. Leave them on for 10-15 seconds. Turn them off. If the power indicator LED stays
on, move to Step 3. If the LED turns off, your vehicle's electrical system may be damaged and
professional help may be needed.
Step 3: Charging the Vehicle. Plug the cigarette lighter adapter's DC connector into the
Pocket Jump's DC/car port. Pocket Jump will turn on automatically (capacity indicator LEDs
will illuminate). The power indicator LED on the adapter will stay on, indicating power is flowing
from the Pocket Jump into your vehicle. Wait 20 minutes. After 20 minutes have passed,
disconnect the Pocket Jump from the vehicle. Disconnect the adapter from the DC/car port
and Pocket Jump will shut off automatically in about 30 seconds.
Step 4: Start the Vehicle. Start your vehicle without pumping the gas. Pumping the gas could
cause engine flooding and prevent the vehicle from starting.
Charging Your Portable Devices
Plug your portable electronic device into either of the USB ports using your device's USB
cord. Pocket Jump will turn on automatically (capacity indicator LEDs will illuminate) and begin
charging your device. If it does not, press the capacity indicator button to begin charging. If
charging two devices at once, connect the device with the greater battery capacity to the 2.1A
USB port (Ex: Charging a tablet and mobile phone, charge the tablet via the 2.1A USB port) for
best results. Consult your device's user manual for battery capacity/charge rate.
AUTO-SHUTOFF FEATURE: Pocket Jump will automatically shut off in about 30 seconds
once all portable devices are disconnected.
Charging the Pocket Jump
Charge your Pocket Jump via USB power source with the included USB cord. Connect the
micro USB end to the Pocket Jump's micro USB port. Then, plug the cord into a USB power
source, such as a USB power port on a computer or a USB wall adapter (not included; many
devices such as smart phones and tablets come with USB wall adapters). The charge indicator
LEDs will start blinking and display the battery level. A full charge takes approximately 4-6
hours. Once the Pocket Jump is fully charged, the charge indicator LEDs will stop blinking
and display a full battery level (all 4 LEDs will light up). Disconnect the Pocket Jump and it will
automatically shut off in about 30 seconds. DO NOT charge the Pocket Jump for more than
6 hours. It is not recommended to use the Pocket Jump to charge electronic devices while the
Pocket Jump unit itself is being charged.
IF YOU HAVE RECENTLY USED THE POCKET JUMP TO JUMP START YOUR VEHICLE: Wait until your vehicle is operating
and running smoothly before charging the Pocket Jump via USB adapter in your vehicle. Do not leave the Pocket Jump
plugged in to be charged by your vehicle while the vehicle is not running, as this may drain your vehicle's battery.
Press the capacity indicator button at any time to check the battery level. If the charge is at full
capacity, all 4 capacity indicator LEDs will light up. If they do not, the Pocket Jump is not fully
charged and must be charged before being used to jump start a vehicle. It does not need to
be at full capacity to charge a portable electronic device. Pocket Jump will automatically turn
on when it detects a connection to either the 2.1A or 1.0A USB port or to the cigarette lighter
adapter and will automatically shut off in about 30 seconds once disconnected from either.
