AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sport transmission

The new AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sport trans-
mission (DCT – Double Clutch Transmission) with wet
double clutch was developed for the SLS AMG
Transmission electronics monitor and control the
actuation of the park pawl and shift mechanism as
well as the clutch and hydraulic system. The transmis-
sion control unit is operated as an independent
control unit.

The transmission is characterized by particularly quick
shift operations without interruption of tractive power.
The driver can set the desired shift characteristics via
the transmission mode adjustment rotary switch. In
addition, the gears can be shifted via shift paddles.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sport transmis-
sion combines the comfort of a conventional auto-
matic transmission with the sportiness and economy
of a manual transmission. It features seven forward
gears and one reverse gear, four transmission modes
and the AMG-typical RACESTART function.
