How many alerts are there. I push the button when it starts peeping to stop it. But it will start back up a little later. I like to know how to stop it for good. it just keeps it up.

To stop the alerts on the La Crosse Technology S85814 permanently, you must go into the Alerts menu and turn off the specific alert. Disarming a sounding alert by pressing any button only stops it temporarily; it will reactivate unless turned off in the Alerts menu.

If the light on the La Crosse Technology S85814 does not stay on, check if the device is running on battery power. When using battery power only, the backlight is automatically set to OFF and will turn on for about 10 seconds when the Light button is pressed, then turn off again to save battery. To keep the light on, plug in the power cord. When plugged in, press and release the Light button to cycle through backlight options: HI, Low, and Off.
