Prior to Operation

• Install the appropriate guard and disk or wheel.
Do not use excessively worn disks or wheels.
• Be sure the spacer and threaded flange are
mounted correctly.
• Make sure the disk or wheel rotates in the
direction of the arrows on the accessory and the
tool.
• Do not use cutting-off wheels for side grinding.
• Ensure that sparks resulting from use do not
create hazard e.g. do not hit persons, or ignite
flammable substances.
OPERATION
WARNING: To reduce the risk
of serious personal injury, turn
tool off and disconnect tool from
power source before making any
adjustments or removing/installing
attachments or accessories. Before
reconnecting the tool, depress and
release the trigger switch to ensure that
the tool is off.
Instructions for Use
WARNING:
• Always observe the safety instructions
and applicable regulations.
• Ensure all materials to be ground or cut
are secured in place.
• Apply only a gentle pressure to the
tool. Do not exert side pressure on the
grinding wheel.
• Avoid overloading. Should the tool
become hot, let it run a few minutes
under no load condition.
• Check that mounted wheels are
correctly fitted according to the
instructions given in this manual.
• Ensure that blotters are used when they
are provided with the abrasive wheel
and when they are required.
• Do not use separate reducing bushings
or adapters to adapt large hole abrasive
wheels.
• Never use the tool without the guard in
place.
• Be aware, the wheel continues to rotate
after the tools is switched off.

WARNING:

Proper Hand Position (fi g. H)
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious
personal injury, ALWAYS use proper
hand position as shown.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious
personal injury, ALWAYS hold securely in
anticipation of a sudden reaction.
Proper hand position requires one hand on the side
handle (16), with the other hand on the body of the
tool, as shown in figure H.
Switching On and Off (fi g. G)
WARNING: Before using tool, check that
the handle is tightened securely.
CAUTION: Hold the side handle and
body of the tool firmly to maintain control
of the tool at start up and during use
and until the wheel or accessory stops
rotating. Make sure the wheel has come
to a complete stop be fore laying the tool
down.
• To run the tool, press the lock-off button (2) and
the On/Off switch (1).
• To stop the tool, release the On/Off switch.
WARNING: Do not switch the tool On or
Off when under load.
Spindle Lock (fi g. A)
The spindle lock (5) is provided to prevent the spindle
from rotating when installing or removing wheels.
Operate the spindle lock only when the tool is turned
off, unplugged from the power supply, and has come
to a complete stop.
NOTICE: To reduce the risk of damage
to the tool, do not engage the spindle
lock while the tool is operating. Damage
to the tool will result and attached
accessory may spin off possibly resulting
in injury.
To engage the lock, depress the spindle lock button
and rotate the spindle until you are unable to rotate
the spindle further.
