1 Safety information Switch your phone off and secure it against inadvertent activation, while you are on an airplane. In hospitals the devices, which guarantee life-preserving functions, are extremely sensitive in relation to radio interferences. Mobile phones may be operated therefore only with special permission of the hospital.

Insert the new SIM card, which you want to use later with Carephone, first in a "normal" mobile phone. Each SIM card has a PIN code. Since Carephone has its own PIN processing, thus enabling to protect the device against unauthorized access even via SMS, the PIN code of the SIM card must be changed.

Before the initial start-up, leave the battery charger connected to your Carephone for at least 3 to 4 hours, until the LED next to the battery symbol (fig. 1/6) turns green. From now on each charging procedure usually takes only 2.5 hours.

If battery capacity is below 20% and you are hearing alarm beeps, you should recharge your Carephone as soon as possible with the original charger, or else the phone is automatically switched off for battery protection after approx. 5 minutes!

Please note that a new battery’s full performance may be achieved only after approximately three complete charge and discharge cycles. The battery of your phone can be charged and discharged several hundred times; inevitably and eventually it will wear out, so that the operating time of your phone will become shorter.
