The most important part of Yacht Router solution is the software which controls complete system.

    7. ABOUT WIFI EXTENDER WIFI Extender is a device that will help you to extend Vessel Network WIFI coverage on larger boats or yachts. It is connected to Yacht Router via single PoE (Power over Ethernet) cable for simultaneous power and data transfer. Each WIFI Expander is equipped with four additional LAN ports so you can easily connect more WIFI Extenders or other devices. If you need multiple WIFI Extenders you can use star or chain topology to provide connectivity no matter the size of your vessel.

    YACHT ROUTER WHAT IS IN THE PACKAGE When shipped, all devices are wrapped in plastic bags that protect them from humidity. Devices are then placed into a cardboard box. A bag containing accessory items is placed inside the box too. List of all included components is enclosed in the package.

    LAN PORT 1 is Backbone port. Backbone port is used for internal socket communication between Yacht Router devices (WIFI Extenders, Expanders, Booster etc) via Backbone network. LAN PORT 2-4 can be configured to become part of the same or different Vessel Networks or...

    WIFI Extenders. Each Vessel Network has WIFI and a cable (LAN) component. It means, for example, that you can connect your laptop computer to Vessel Network 1 (Owner network) via WIFI or via LAN cable plugged into Vessel Network 1 port on Yacht Router. But you can also use any LAN port on any WIFI Extender to connect to Vessel Network 1. All you have to do is to configure LAN port on WIFI Extender to become part of Vessel Network 1.

    WARRANTY. PORT NUMBERS ARE CLEARLY MARKED ON DEVICE ENCLOSURE. IMPORTANT: Once you connect WIFI Extender as it is described you will have to contact Locomarine Support or your local dealer to reconfigure VESSEL NETWORK 1 or VESSEL NETWORK 2 port to become BACKBONE port.

  • Page 24: How To Reconfigure Ports On Wifi Extender

    HOW TO RECONFIGURE PORTS ON WIFI EXTENDER Each LAN port on WIFI Extender can be reconfigured to become part of Vessel Network of your choice. For example, if your WIFI Extender is connected to Yacht Router Standard you might need to set two LAN ports on WIFI Extender to become part of Vessel Network 1, one LAN port part of Vessel Network 2 and one LAN port part of Vessel Network 3. If you need port reconfiguration please contact Locomarine Support or your local dealer.

    YACHT ROUTER WARNING: The installer should configure WIFI Extender transmitting output power level according to country regulations. IMPORTANT: Exposure to Radio Frequency Radiation. 63 cm minimum distance has to be maintained between the antenna and the occupational user and 142 cm to general public. Under such configuration, the FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for a population/uncontrolled environment can be satisfied.
