Spectrum24 Network Control Panel Applet (NCPA)
A.2.3 Encryption Property Page
A - 6
Use the Encryption property page for configuring WLAN
adapter 802.11 Encryption settings. The absence of a
physical connection makes wireless links vulnerable to
information theft. Encryption is an efficient method of
preventing data theft and improving data security. The
firmware supports IEEE 802.11
Shared Key
encryption algorithms.
The Open System algorithm (default setting) does not
encrypt packets over the network. The Shared Key
algorithm uses a 40-bit encryption key shared between
the MU and the AP to encrypt and decrypt the WLAN
data packets. Enter four encryption keys. MUs use
Shared Key or Open System exclusively.
In Windows CE, all of the data fields in the
property page are grayed out and not available
for configuration.
