16.17. Removing the Cassette Tape
Manually
When electrical system failure occurs and a loaded cassette
tape is stuck in the unit, follow the instruction below to remove
it.
16.17.1. Removal by Compulsory Loading
(Available when service mode is on even when the power
cannot be turned off.)
1. Press and hold down the "FF" and "EJECT" buttons at
least three seconds then adjust the service number until
appears as "7".
2. Press the "STOP" button to unload.
(Carefully check for tape slack)
16.17.2. Removal by Use of Battery to
Rotate Loading Motor
1. Unplug the power outlet, and remove the top panel and the
front panel.
2. Use a mechanism drive jig (or three AA-size batteries
connected in series) in order to supply 4.5V and to rotate
the loading motor.
3. Suspend the unloading operation right before completion.
Rotate the S-reel board with a negative screwdriver (small
size) to remove tape slack.
4. Restart the unloading operation to remove the cassette
tape.
