  • Page 14 Appendix The A07, is one of the "new" generation of ETA-movements. The minute hand is not included in the normal gear chain. It stands beside it. All the older movements have a real-minute which stands between the barrel and anchor under pressure in the middle of the movement. The newer ETA movements have a bigger barrel and another wheel calculation to increase the power reserve. Between the minute-hand and the real wheel train are two teeth meshes which have some play (or what we call gear slack). If you calculate the play of the mesh and add the play of the bearing of these wheels you arrive at a fault of 1° to 1.5° for the minute hand. This corresponds to 10 to 15 seconds delay in initially setting the first minute, all subsequent minutes are 60 seconds. However it is not a fault, merely a characteristic of the movement. There is only one solution for the user that is concerned about this tolerance when setting the time.
