WARNING Only Avanti accredited installers may install or service Hughes antennas and their components installed on Avanti Hylas networks. Installers must expressly acknowledge the Avanti requirements for Hughes system installations. All engineers must be trained in safe use of ladders, working at heights, risk assessment and general health and safety including the correct use of PPE equipment.

The Hughes Spaceway and Jupiter 74cm antenna systems are identical in their assembly, however, there are differences in the two systems that mean the correct antenna must be purchased for the system that is being deployed either the Dual IFL or the new Single IFL models. The difference between the two antennas is within the boom arm length and design and the transceiver mounting hardware. SPACEWAY Dual IFL JUPITER Single IFL SPACEWAY Dual IFL JUPITER Single IFL This next section details the assembly requirements for the Spaceway system which should also be followed for the assembly of the Jupiter antenna. 11.14 Setting the polarization on the Jupiter Transceiver. Setting the required polarization on the Jupiter transceiver is fairly straight forward, when the unit is received new it will be set in RHCP so if this is correct for the beam you are working in you only need to double check this is correct. If you are working in a beam which is LHCP then the waveguide will need to be adjusted, to accomplish this complete the following steps. 1. Firstly look at the neck of the feed horn assembly where it meets the main body of the transceiver and identify a). The arrow on the neck of the wave guide. b). The L and R markings on the main body. 2. As can be seen in picture one above the arrow on the waveguide is pointing at the R mark so this is set to RHCP. To change this to LHCP remove the four Allen studs seen above and rotate the waveguide anti‐clockwise through 90° so the arrow points to the L symbol (See below) ensure the sealing washer remains in place and replace and fully tighten the four Allen stubs, the unit it now set for LHCP. Before any installation can be completed using the AFA or AMA the software must be installed on your laptop or Android device and synchronized with the Avanti OSS system, this will ensure the job details and configuration files are available at the terminal commissioning stage. Without these details preloaded into the AFA, AMA you will not be able to complete any installation.
The terminal must not be power cycled using the din connector on the rear of the terminal, power should always be removed from the supply before inserting or removing the Din plug or damage to the terminal may result. Avanti Installation Manual 2.0...
