    14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER We recommend the use of Ever Ready batteries. Using the Remote Control To use the remote control, point it at the front of the unit, towards the sensor which is situated on the front of the unit by the power LED. The remote control will work up to 6 metres from the unit and at an angle of up to 30 degrees.

    GTV14T4DVD Standby When the unit is in the standby mode, press the STANDBY button to switch on. To switch the unit back to Standby mode press the STANDBY button. Switching Off Press the POWER button on the front panel of the unit.

    14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER Using the Unit in TV Mode Tuning There are two ways of tuning: Autosearch, where the unit tunes itself automatically. Manual tuning, where you control the tuning process. Note: If the unit is set to a channel with no signal, the unit will return to standby after 5 minutes.

    GTV14T4DVD Exchange Menu After auto search there will be some Program numbers duplicated and some blank. To re-order the channels: Press the MENU button six times, until the Exchange Menu is displayed. Press the VOLUME UP or VOLUME DOWN button to select the first channel to be exchanged.

    14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER The tuning indicator will move up the scale. When the search finds a strong channel signal it will stop searching. The picture and the Tune Menu will appear. To change the program number for the tuned channel press the PROGRAM UP button to select PROGRAM.

    14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER TV Mode Controls Program Selection Press the PROGRAM DOWN or PROGRAM UP button or press a NUMERIC button to select a program. To select a program number between 10 and 99, press the MULTI DIGIT button first and then press the two NUMERIC buttons.

    GTV14T4DVD Lock This feature allows you to lock the unit to the current channel. No other channels can be viewed unless the unit is unlocked. Press the LOCK button and enter your choice of four digit password. Enter the password again.

Press the PROGRAM UP button to select SOUND and press the VOLUME UP button to select the required sound system.

    14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER Sound Menu Press the MENU button twice, until the Sound Menu is displayed or press the SOUND button. Press the PROGRAM UP or PROGRAM DOWN button to toggle through the options and then press the VOLUME UP or VOLUME DOWN button to make the adjustment.

    GTV14T4DVD Timer Setup On/Off Timer You can set the unit to turn on and turn off at specified times, and to be tuned to a set channel. On Time Press the PROGRAM UP or PROGRAM DOWN button to select the hours.
  • Page 31 14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER Press the VOLUME UP or VOLUME DOWN button to set the required time in blocks of 10 minutes up to 180 minutes. The count down will start immediately. Automatic Channel Change You can set the unit to automatically change channel at a specified time.

    GTV14T4DVD Press the VOLUME UP or VOLUME DOWN button to select the channel. Once all the options have been set, switch the unit to standby mode. Setup Menu Press the MENU button four times, until the Setup Menu is displayed or press the SET button.

    14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER Teletext Teletext is an information system that displays text on your television screen. Using the teletext control buttons you can view pages of information that are listed in the teletext index. Note: No on-screen menu displays are available in text mode. The contrast, brightness and colour cannot be changed but the volume control is still available.
  • Page 34 GTV14T4DVD wish to view the sub-page for longer than the delay period you can stop the rotation by pressing the HOLD button. The stop symbol will appear in the top left corner of the screen. To remove the hold and continue the rotation of the sub-pages, press the HOLD button again.

    14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER Double Height Text If you have difficulty reading the text on the teletext page you can double the height of the text. Press the SIZE button. The top half of the page will be displayed in double height text.

    GTV14T4DVD Using the Unit in DVD Mode Press the DVD button and the unit will switch to DVD mode. Press the DVD button again to return to TV mode. DVD Mode Control Note: The DVD buttons on the remote control operate only in Shift mode.

    14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER DVD Special Functions Menu Function To return to the root menu of the DVD disc, while the movie is playing, press the MENU button. You can also press the TITLE button. Press the appropriate ARROW button to toggle through the menu, then press the ENTER/PLAY button.

    14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER Subtitle Function Some DVD discs contain subtitles in several languages. To access the subtitles, press the SUB-T button, and toggle through the available languages until the desired subtitles are found. Note: See the DVD disc cover for supported languages. Audio Function Some DVD discs contain audio in several languages.
  • Page 42 GTV14T4DVD The menu will show the current playback status. The title and chapter numbers show the current setting and the total on the disc, so in the example on the previous page there are three titles and 26 chapters on the disc.

    14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER Note: Refer to the DVD disc cover for Title and Chapter listings. Program entry ‘01’ will be highlighted. Use the numeric buttons to enter the Title number. The cursor will move to the adjacent Chapter field. Use the numeric buttons to enter the Chapter number.
  • Page 44 GTV14T4DVD Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the disc compartment drawer. Note: ‘OPEN’ will be displayed in the top left hand corner of the screen. Select a CD and place it over the disc holder in the centre of the disc compartment, ensuring that the label is facing upwards.
  • Page 45 14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER Fast Search Forward/Backward To fast search the contents of a disc, press either the SEARCH FORWARD button to search forwards through the disc or press the SEARCH BACKWARD button, to search backwards through the disc. Repeatedly pressing the search buttons will toggle through the six search speeds available.

    GTV14T4DVD Playing Kodak Picture CDs and JPEG picture You can view Kodak picture CDs and JPEG picture CDs on the screen. Playback Press the DVD button and the unit will switch to DVD mode. Press the SHIFT button to enable Picture CD functions on the remote control.

    14” COLOUR TELEVISION WITH DVD PLAYER Care and Maintenance Handling Discs To remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the centre of the case and lift the disc out. Hold the disc by the edges, to avoid touching the recorded side of the disc.

If any defect arises due to faulty materials or workmanship, the unit will either be replaced, a refund given or repaired free of charge (where possible) during this period by the dealer from whom you purchased the unit.
