Voice contact
(talking to the caller during or after fax reception or
transmission)
You can have a voice conversation with the same call after the fax message is completed. This will save the
extra expense and time of making another call.
This feature works only when the other party's unit is equipped with a voice contact feature.
Initiating voice contact
Press (SP-PHONE) while transmitting or

receiving documents.
¡Your unit will call the other party with a
distinctive ring.

When the other party answers, the unit will
emit a distinctive ring.
Press (SP-PHONE).
OR
Press (TALK) on the handset to start talking.
¡If you initiate voice contact during transmission,
you can talk after all the documents have been
transmitted.
¡If you initiate voice contact during reception, you
can talk after the current page of the document is
received.
¡If the other party does not answer, the line will be
disconnected.
Receiving a request for voice contact
If the other party initiates voice contact, your unit will emit a distinctive ring after transmission or reception is
completed.
When the distinctive ring is heard, press (SP-PHONE) on the main unit or press (TALK) on the handset, then
start speaking.
Note:
¡If you do not answer within 10 seconds of hearing the distinctive ring, the line will be disconnected.
