12 Volt dC Charging

1. Press the Power On/Off Button to turn the unit on. A beep will sound, the LCD backlight will turn on
and the LCD screen will display the following:
The bars on the Battery Status Icon represent the charge level of the unit' s internal battery.
2. The 12V Boosting/Charging Cable is stored inside the storage compartment. Insert the plug into
the 12 volt DC accessory outlet of the vehicle. Rotate the plug slightly to make sure there is good
contact. The unit will detect whether the car battery has sufficient power to charge the battery
booster. This process takes several seconds. Once it has detected that there is sufficient power to
charge, a beep will sound and the LCD screen will display the following:
The bars on the Battery Status Icon will change from empty to solid (right to left) repeatedly to
indicate the unit is charging.
Note:
When the battery power from the charging vehicle is detected as too low, or voltage is too high, or the battery
overheats, the charging process will terminate and the LCD screen will display the following:
The Battery Status Icon will light solid and the triangular Fault Icon will flash. Disconnect the plug from the 12 volt
DC accessory outlet. Charge the booster using the 120 volt AC method.
3. Once charging has commenced, continue to charge until the Battery Status Icon displays 4 solid bars.
4. When charging is complete, press the Power On/Off Button to turn the unit off; then disconnect the
12V Boosting/Charging Cable and store it in its storage compartment.
Notes:
Some vehicles require that the ignition be switched to the accessory outlet position in order to power the accessory
outlet. Do not leave the unit unattended when charging using this method.

using the battery booster
1. Turn off the vehicle ignition and all accessories (radio, A/C, lights, connected cell phone chargers,
etc.). Place vehicle in "park" and set the emergency brake.
2. Make sure the AC Charger is unplugged and disconnected from the unit.
3. Press the Power On/Off Button to turn the unit on. A beep will sound, the LCD backlight will turn on
and the LCD screen will display the following:
The bars on the Battery Status Icon represent the charge level of the unit' s internal battery.
Note:
The unit will automatically switch off after 3 minutes if there is no additional user input.
4. Press the Battery Boost Button (the middle of control panel) to activate the Boost Mode. A beep will
sound, the LCD screen will display the following:
The Countdown Timer will show 30 min and the bars on the Battery Status Icon will light solid to
represent the charge level of the unit' s internal battery. The Battery Icon will flash to indicate the
user can now insert the 12V Boosting/Charging Cable into the vehicle' s 12 volt DC accessory outlet.
5. Insert the 12V Boosting/Charging Cable into the 12 volt DC accessory outlet of the vehicle. Rotate
the plug slightly to make sure there is good contact. When the plug is properly connected, the
Boosting LED Indicator will flash red and the LCD screen will display the following:
The Battery Icon will light to indicate the unit is properly connected and the vehicle battery is ready
to charge. The Countdown Timer will show the countdown period. The charging/boosting process
has started.
