DIRECTION FOR USE

Battery operation
Open the battery compartment and insert 8 size C type R14 batteries in accordance with
the directions above the compartment. Close the lid of the battery compartment.
Mains operation
Connect the mains cable to the AC input on the set and to a normal wall socket.
NOTE! For battery operation, remove the mains cable from the set.
Radio reception
• Set the function selector switch FUNCTION to the RADIO position.
• Select AM, FM or FM ST using the BAND selector.
• For FM reception, pull out the aerial and adjust the direction, length and angle to obtain
the best reception. A ferrite rod aerial is built-in for AM reception. Turn the set to find
the position that gives the best reception.
• Set the desired transmitting station by turning the station setting dial TUNING.
• Set the volume control VOLUME to the desired volume.
• For a more powerful bass sound, press the DBB button.(BASS BOOST).
• For private listening, headphones(not included) can be connected to the socket on
the top of the set.
CD
Only play CDs that are marked with
1 Set the function selector switch to the CD position.
2. Open the CD compartment by pressing the OPEN/CLOSE button. Then insert the
CD.
3. If the CD compartment has been opened, --is shown in the display.
4. Close the CD compartment
5. If there is no CD inserted or the number of tracks on the CD can not be read, the
characters--are first shown in the display and then the characters00.
6. If there is a CD in the compartment, a figure will indicate the total number of tracks
on the CD.
Playback
Press
SS. The display will show the number of the current track and the play indicator
is activated.
Pause
Press
SS. and the pause indicator will be activated in the display. Cancel the pause
function by pressing
SS again.
Stop
Press I. The CD will stop rotating
Skip to a new track
Press
S to skip to the next track. Press S
Fast-wind
Press
S or S
and keep the button pressed in until you have found the desired place
in the selected track (the speed increases, but the volume decreases during fast-wind).
Repeat
Press REPEAT once during CD playback. When the indicator REPEAT 1 is activated
in the display, the current track is repeated. Press REPEAT twice during playback. When
the indicator REPEAT ALL is activated, the entire CD is repeated . Press REPEAT again
to terminate the repeat function.

Programmed Playback

You can arrange the order of the tracks on the discs and create your own program. The
program can contain up to 30 tracks.
1. Press the program button while stop. Program appears on LCD Display.
2. Using the skip up/down buttons to select the track to be stored and then press
Program button to store the track.
3. Repeat step 2 to store further tracks. (Max. 30 Tracks)
4. Press
/ SS to start program play.
5. To clear the Program Memory, press the stop button to stop the disc.

Cassette recorder

Inserting and removing a cassette
• Press STOP/EJ to open the cassette compartment.
• Press the cassette firmly into the holder with the visible part of the tape facing upwards.
Make sure that the cassette compartment is properly closed before you start.
• Always press STOP/EJ to stop the tape, before any other button is pressed.
Playback
• Set the function selector switch FUNCTION to the TAPE position
• Press STOP/EJ and insert the cassette.
• Press PLAY to start playback.
• Set the volume to the desired level.
• Press PAUSE to temporarily stop playback.. Release the button to start the cassette
again.
• Press STOP/EJ when you want to stop playback.
To fast forward
• Press FF to fast forward the cassette tape.
To rewind
• Press REW to rewind the cassette tape.
To record a cassette tape
Open the cassette compartment and insert a cassette tape. Press PAUSE on the cassette
player, and then press REC.
1. To record a radio programme : set the function change switch to RADIO, select the
desired frequency and radio station. Press PAUSE again to begin recording.
2. To record from a CD: set the function change switch to CD and press PLAY/PAUSE
SS to start the CD. Press
S or S
to begin recording.
Protection against accidentally erasing the cassette tape
Every time something is recorded onto a tape, previously recorded sound is erased. The
tape recorded and cassettes are equipped with a safety device which prevents the
recording button RECORD from being depressed when the tabs are removed form the
cassette and protects recordings from accidentally being erased. Remove the cassette
tabs to protect the recordings. If you want to record onto a tape without tabs, simply stick
some tape over the places where the tabs have been removed.
