Zoom in/out function

SDR-H60:
You can zoom in up to 50x optically.
SDR-H50/SDR-H40:
You can zoom in up to 42x optically.
¬ Rotate the mode dial to select

Move the zoom lever.
T side:
Close-up recording (zoom in)
W side:
Wide-angle recording (zoom out)
≥ The zoom speed varies depending on the
range over which the zoom lever is moved.
≥ If you take your finger off the zoom lever during
zoom operation, the operation sound may be
recorded. When returning the zoom lever to
the original position, move it quietly.
≥ When distant subjects are brought closer, they
are focused at about 1.3 m or more.

≥ When the zoom magnification is 1x, this unit
can focus on a subject approx. 2 cm away from
the lens. (Macro function)
≥ When the zoom speed is high, the subject may
not be focused easily.
Digital zoom function
If the zoom magnification exceeds 50x
(SDR-H60)/42x (SDR-H50/SDR-H40), then the
digital zoom function will be activated. The
maximum magnification provided by the digital
zoom can be switched.

SDR-H60:
[OFF]: Optical zoom only (Up to 50x)
[80x]: Up to 80x
[2500x]: Up to 2500x
≥ If [80x] or [2500x] is selected, the digital zoom
range is displayed in blue while zooming.
SDR-H50/SDR-H40:
[OFF]: Optical zoom only (Up to 42x)
[70x]: Up to 70x
[2000x]: Up to 2000x
≥ If [70x] or [2000x] is selected, the digital zoom
range is displayed in blue while zooming.
≥ The larger the digital zoom magnification, the
more the image quality is degraded.
≥ This function cannot be used in picture
recording mode.
