1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE PROCEEDING.
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK AND/OR INJURY CAREFULLY
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS:
Use this unit only for the purpose for which it was designed. If you have any questions, contact the customer service.
Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch power off at service panel and lock it to prevent power from being switched
on accidentally. If the service panel cannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent warning device, such as a tag, to
the service panel.
Do not use this appliance to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors. Be careful when using cleaning
agents or detergents.
WARNING
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF A COOKTOP OR GREASE FIRE:
Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers may
ignite. Heat oils slowly on low or medium settings.
Always operate the hood when cooking especially with high temperatures or with Flambé foods.
Use the proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriate for the size of the cooking area.
Frequently clean all surfaces of the hood.
Make sure that the fan, filters, and the surfaces are always clean.
Do not leave cooktop/range unattended.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY DURING A RANGE/ COOKTOP OR GREASE FIRE
Do not use water or a wet dishcloth - a violent steam explosion will result
Never pick up a pan on fire - you may be burned.
Smother flames with a lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray, and then turn off the burner.
If the flames do not go out immediately, evacuate and call the Fire Department
Use an extinguisher only if:
You know you have a functional class ABC extinguisher and you know to use it.
The fire is concise and confined to its point of origin.
You have called the fire department. You can easily get out of the place where the fire is located.
WARNING
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF A RANGE/COOKTOP OR GREASE FIRE:
Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by a qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicable
codes and standards, including fire-rated construction codes and standards.
Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the flue (chimney) of fuel
burning equipment to prevent back drafting. Follow the heating equipment manufacturer's
Guidelines and Safety Standards such as those published by the National Fire Protection Association
(NFPA), and the American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and
the local code authorities
When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.
Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.
