Wiring
When there is a short distance between the outdoor unit and water heater and the
thermistor extension cable is too long
1) Remove the water heater thermistor connected to the S402 connector on the
printed wiring board. (Refer to fi gure 1.)
2) Before inserting the
connector, cut the end for connection to the outdoor unit to a suitable length.
* If the cable is joined uncut to the S402 connector with the excess tied up, noise
may be generated, resulting in system malfunctions.
3) Attach round crimp-style terminals (fi eld supply) to the cut end of the cable and fi x
them to 3 and 4 on the X40M terminal board. (Refer to fi gure 4.)
4) Pull the water heater thermistor extension cable around as shown in fi gure 3
C
and secure it to the wiring clamp attached to the outdoor unit. There should be no
external tension applied to the cable after attachment.
At this time, ensure the clamp is correctly oriented as shown in the diagram.
2-2 Installation procedure for water heater side
WARNING
• As there is a risk of electric shock, check the
power for the water heater's electric equipment
is turned off.
1) Loosen the 2 screws and remove the heater
cover. (Refer to fi gure 1.)
2) Pass the connector of the
extension cable through the hole in the wiring routing
section and then join this connector to the water heater
thermistor. (Refer to fi gure 2.)
