How
MIDI Data
is
Transmitted
and
Received
Using
"channels",
MIDI
can transmit data
mdependently
to
multiple devices over
a single
cable.
You
may
think
of
MIDI
channels
as
being
similar to
television channels.
By
switching channels
on
a
television
receiver,
you
can
receive
many
different broadcasts.
When
the channel
of
the transmitter
matches
the channel
of
the
receiver,
the data
of
that
channel
is
received.
