    Basics Maintaining water and dust resistance The device may be damaged if water or dust enters the device. Follow these tips carefully to prevent damage to the device and to maintain the water- and dust-resistant performance of the device. • D o not immerse the device in water deeper than 1.5 m and keep it submerged for more than 30 minutes.

The devices are not completely waterproof. • E nsure that the strap is kept clean. Contact with contaminants, such as dust and dye, can cause stains on the strap that may not be fully removed.

    Charge the battery before using it for the first time or when it has been unused for extended periods. Use only Samsung-approved chargers, batteries, and cables. Unapproved chargers or cables can cause the battery to explode or damage the Gear.
  • Page 10 Connected to a low-power adaptor When a wireless charger dock error occurs, the LED indicator flashes red. Disconnect the Gear from the wireless charger dock and reconnect them. If the error occurs again, contact a Samsung Service Centre for service support.

    You should connect your Gear to your mobile device once before using the Gear. To connect your Gear to a mobile device, install the Samsung Gear app on the mobile device. The Samsung Gear app is available from Galaxy Apps on Samsung Android devices and from Play Store on other Android devices.
  • Page 16 • C onnection methods and screenshots may vary depending on your device and software version. • Y ou cannot install the Samsung Gear app on the mobile devices that do not support Gear syncing. Ensure that your mobile device is compatible with a Gear.

    This feature is automatically activated when you connect to your mobile device via Bluetooth for the first time. If this feature is not turned on, on your mobile device, open the Apps screen, tap Samsung Gear → Settings → Gear connection, and then tap the Remote connection switch.

    Basics e-SIM Introduction Your Gear includes an e-SIM, which functions as a SIM card so that you do not need a SIM card to make calls, send messages, or use a mobile data connection with the Gear. Install a profile and activate the e-SIM. For more information, contact your service provider. Activating the e-SIM To use the e-SIM, you must download a profile and activate the e-SIM.
  • Page 19 Basics Mobile device Use your mobile device to scan the QR code on the e-SIM voucher. When the QR code is scanned, a profile is automatically downloaded on your device. Tap ACTIVATE. Gear to activate the e-SIM on your Gear. You can use the mobile data connection sorely on the Gear.

    → Gear eSIM → Delete. The Gear will be reset and you can download a new profile. Before installing a new profile, you cannot use your Gear’s mobile data connection. To add a new profile, open the Apps screen of the mobile device and tap Samsung Gear → Settings → Gear eSIM activation.

    • D o not use the bezel near magnetic fields as they may interfere with the bezel’s internal magnets and cause it to malfunction. If the bezel does not rotate, take it to a Samsung Service Centre. Do not disassemble the Gear.
  • Page 22 Basics Selecting an item Rotate the bezel to highlight the item you want to select and then tap the item. When you rotate the bezel, the highlight indicator will move in the same direction. Adjusting the input value Rotate the bezel to adjust the volume or brightness. When adjusting the brightness, rotate the bezel clockwise to make the screen brighter.

    Basics Touchscreen • D o not allow the touchscreen to come into contact with other electrical devices. Electrostatic discharges can cause the touchscreen to malfunction. • T o avoid damaging the touchscreen, do not tap it with anything sharp or apply excessive pressure to it with your fingertips.

    Basics Home screen Introduction The Home screen can have multiple panels. The Watch screen is the starting point of the Home screen. Rotate the bezel to view items on the screen, such as notifications and widgets. Watch Notifications Widgets widgets. Available widgets, notifications, and their arrangement may vary depending on the software version.

If a message includes long text or attachments, check the message details on your mobile device. Viewing other notifications Tap the number at the bottom of the panel. You can view other notifications received from the same app.

When the Gear is synced with a compatible S Health app, you can use additional features. The additional features include checking your heart rate logs individually, and more.
  • Page 48 Applications • T he accuracy of the heart rate sensor may be diminished depending on measurement conditions and surroundings. • U se the HR feature only for measuring your heart rate. • D o not look directly at the heart rate sensor’s lights. Doing so may impair your vision.
  • Page 49 Applications 24-hour activity tracker Your Gear can monitor and record your activities during the day and encourage you to stay healthy. Tap S Health on the Apps screen. • H ealthy activity: It indicates whether you are walking or running. If you have made more than 100 steps per minute for at least 10 consecutive minutes, the Gear will encourage you to keep going.
